Are You Worried About Money?

I'm sure it's common knowledge that tough economic times are here. Worrying about money can certainly strain our relationships and our own well-being. It's hard to focus when all you can think about is where the money will come from for this or that. Here are a couple things to do when you find yourself worried about money.

Have a positive outlook about money. Think about abundance and you will attract money. When your fears focus on a lack of money, you actually push abundance and money away! Begin to focus on the many things you have been blessed with and reflect an outward energy of abundance and that abundance will flow to you. A positive attitude towards anything reaps postive rewards, just as a negative attitude towards anything reaps negative rewards!
Add value. If you feel that money is not flowing towards you. Go that extra mile and take a look at what you are doing to encourage that money flow. Maybe there are some ways you can tweek a project or the way you interact with others that will get that money flowing back toward you. Add value to everything you do and you will begin to reap the rewards.
Change your focus. If you are focusing on the lack of money, chances are that's where your problem lies. Change your focus and start focusing on all that you do have instead of what you don't have. We live in a world of abundance and we must stop focusing on the lack of what we think we need or should have and start focusing on what is right in front of us!

Confucius once said, “To know what is right and not do it is the worst cowardice.” But actually living the ‘do right rule’ is tough because it requires discipline, commitment and courage.

Take Time for Your Dreams

Did you know it is important to have dreams and goals? It is! You should always have something to be working towards. Those goals could be something small, like to finish reading a book you've been working on, visiting a friend you've been yearning to see. Your dream could be something bigger like making a career change, starting a home business, or taking a family vacation. It doesn't matter how big or small the goals is....just that you have something to dream about and work towards achieving.

You may not reach all your goals, but the ones you do reach will bring you much satisfaction and the ones you don't reach just give you something to keep reaching for!

We have to remember to take time for our dreams. Taking time for our dreams is taking time for ourselves! Life is all about living the way that makes YOU happiest. Take the time to nurture yourself. Reach for the goals that you have for yourself and make them happen. 2009 offers so much hope and possibilities. Reach for the stars and make it happen.

Live & Play Like a 7 Year Old Little Boy

Wow! We had a busy weekend celebrating our son's birthday. Hunter turned 7 on Saturday. I love just watching him...he is so full of life and energy. I can't imagine how boring life would be without him. Boys are just so different. Our first child is a girl, so every experience with Hunter has been new and sometimes challenging.

Anyways, Hunter decided he wanted to have a sleepover with three of his closest friends to celebrate his big 7th so we agreed. It was a blast. It was a weekend of Hunter + 3 more just like him! The energy in our house was through the roof!

But, in the midst of all the excitement, energy and noise, I was able to observe a few things that makes me want to learn something from these little boys -- I want to learn to play like a 7 year old boy! Here they are:

1) Little boys have no fear. Have you ever noticed if there is something they want to do...they just do it! They step outside of their comfort zone (if they even have one!) and take the plunge.

I want to be able to do that -- just step outside of my routine and try something new. This year, I will be trying several new methods of marketing my network marketing business and learning new things about the MLM industry. I am challenging myself to have no fear this year.

2) Little boys have GREAT imaginations. They can conjure up images in their minds and live out their dreams right there in the family room.

I'm going to work on my dream board. I know where I can go with this home based business and I am going to keep track of my progress as my dreams and goals are met.

3) Little boys believe they can DO ANYTHING or BE ANYTHING! This kind of goes along with the imagination thing, but it's much bigger than just imagining things. Their imaginations actually turn into belief -- they BELIEVE they can do what they want to do or be what they want to be. They don't let others hold them back or discourage them.

I am not going to let others discourage me with my business. I know this is a wonderful opportunity for me and my family to fulfill the goals we have in life. We will continue to work together to grow this awesome candle home based business that we have.

4) Little boys have great perserverance. They try something, it doesn't work out as planned and they simply get back up, brush themselves off, try again or even alter they plans a bit until it works. They just don't give up!

I have tried many ways of working my home business. I plan on continuing down the paths that I've taken and trying new and exciting ways to spread the word about all the opportunities my network marketing business offers others.

5) Little boys have never-ending energy. They are constantly thinking, doing, and being. They know that life is out there just for them and they want it ALL!

Every moment I work on something new with my business gives me a renewed satisfaction and excitement about this MLM opportunity. I am energized by the possibilities.

Managing your time in your home based business is so important. Time management can make or break your success. I ran across this article and thought it would be great to share it.

Managing Your Time In a Home Based Business

People decide to start a home based business for a variety of reasons. Some people want to be home when their kids get home from school. Some people are caring for a sick parent and wish to be home. Some people just can not conform to the 8-5 mold.

When you work at home, you are in charge of your time. You will decide how much time is spent talking with customers, how much time is spent marketing your business and how much time is spent doing the laundry.

It is so easy to run out to the grocery store, or do a load of laundry, or finish up those dinner dishes; however none of those activities are contributing to your business.

One of the cutest stories I can share with you is the time I spoke with a woman who just couldn’t find her first customer. She and I had created a list of 50 activities she could do that would help her find that first customer. At the end of the week, she still did not have a customer. She was upset and frustrated. We began to talk about the list of 50 activities. She had not done one of them. What she had done was rearrange her office space twice, buy and put labels on several folders for the paperwork she knew she’d have down the road and read some articles on sales.

When you work at home, there is no one telling you when a project must be completed. There is no one asking you for your completed work. You have to have the desire and the motivation to take the steps needed to create sales for any business you start.

I am strong advocator of goals, both short term and long term. What is it that you want to accomplish today, this week, this month and this year? Put it in writing. If you want to find one new customer this week, that’s a great goal, but how will you find that person? Will you place an ad? Will you write articles? What steps will you take to find that new customer?

I know that sometimes we don’t hit our goals. That’s ok, rewrite them. Allow yourself 30 minutes per day to reread your goals, make a plan to execute those goals and if necessary, rewrite them. Remember there is no boss to tell you how to spend your time, but a goal sheet can help guide you through your days and weeks.

Expand Your Mind

As adults, we spend our days problem-solving, troubleshooting and challenging ourselves mentally to complete all the tasks on our agenda for the day. But in all those daily tasks, have we learned anything new or interesting? Have we pushed ourselvesto explore a topic that we previously knew little about?

We become such creatures of habit in our adult lives. Each and every day, we go through the motions of what we did the day before. It can be mind numbing. I am challenging you to wake up your brain, explore something new, take a class at a community college; pick up a book on a subject that you've been wanting to learn more about at your local bookstore; tackle a sudoku puzzle; or learn to play an instrument. These are just some ideas. Find a new passion and go for it! You might surprise yourself.

I plan on expanding my horizons and mind this coming year by developing myself both personally and professionally. Here is one of the books I just ordered from Amazon:

Make 2009 a year to expand your mind and experiences. Life is to short to just go through the motions!

Got Courage?

Are you a person of good character? Do you stay true, noble and honorable to your principles and values? If you answered yes to both of these questions...you've got courage!

When you have courage, you search to provide value in all you do and say!

You do what's right. You follow your conscience and refuse to compromise yourself or your principles despite outside pressures and temptations.
You also aren't afraid to take a stand against what's wrong. You don't mind speaking out when you see others doing things that are just not right.

There is no questions about it, both of these actions require strength, guts, and most of all courage. If you are a person who practices these actions, you are truly a courageous person. Today, let us all think bout these simple questions:

Am I courageous?

How courageous am I?

How courageous can I be?

Courage is....

Refusing to take part in hurting or disrespecting others.
Being honest with yourself and others -- even if others don't agree with you.
Following the rules and expecting others to follow the rules also.
Searching for better ways to do things...challenge yourself & others.
Doing what is right even if there are risks and consequences to be suffered.
Following your instincts and not just "following the crowd".
Being accountable for your actions both good and bad.

I don't know about you, but I am ready to be courageous in 2009. The world is filled with so much possibility. I don't want to let any opportunity pass me by.

Life Inventory Time

Okay, the tree is down, the decorations are packed away and the company has all gone home. I hope you all enjoyed the holidays and have emerged, relatively unscathed, ready to face a New Year.

Look around you, what do you see people doing? People are setting goals for the new year. They are taking inventory of the past and setting a new path for the future.

We need to do the same!

A personal inventory is an important tool of growth in our walk of life. How can we know where we are headed if we don't know where we have been? What lessons did we learn during the last year? What do we want to keep and what needs to be tossed aside as we face a new year? What changes need to happen and what needs to remain the same? What new choices do we need to make in order to achieve new goals -- the right goals?

It is often so easy to keep on doing "the next thing." We put one foot in front of the other, casually drifting through a life without purpose, only to wake up one day to discover that we have wasted much of that life on the "unimportant." I don't know about you, but I have reached the point in life where I absolutely refuse to live in survival mode. I want my life to count ... to make an impact.

This New Year, 2009, is not just another year; it is another chapter of life, filled with opportunities, challenges and fresh purpose. I choose against my "old nature" that wants to just sit back and rest in the warmth of yesterday's victories or hide in the darkness of yesterday's defeats. Set Yourself Up for a Great 2009

Are you ready to set yourself up for a great 2009?

The first place to start is with yourself! Think thoughts of abundance. Determine who you want to be, what you want your legacy to be, and what you want your life to look like.

You can self talk yourself to reach those results!

You need a plan. You wouldn't set out on a family vacation without having a plan. Why would you set out in the new year without a plan?

You need to know where you're going and how you're going to get there. You have to account for happenings along the way.

Do you have a home based business? Are you looking to start a home based business. A home business is the same way, you have to have a plan.

You need to know what to say, have enough sales aids and product and know where to find people to introduce to your products and business.

Business is all about creating momentum. Take massive action in 2009 to keep things rolling. Be committed to your business. You are going to have good days and bad days, but it's all about consistency.

Become a leader in 2009. Set an example and know that YOU are the master of YOURSELF!

Fill Your Life With Fragrance

Have you ever really thought about how fragrance effects our lives with each and every breath we take? Look around you and all the different ways that companies incorporate scents and fragrances into their products! There are dish soaps, fabric softeners, detergents, air fresheners, etc. The list goes on and on!

While you may not think about it, but the way things smell make a difference in just about every aspect of your life. Just like the quote above says, you can't turn off your sense of smell. You have to breath and with every breath you take, you encounter the fragrances in that breath -- whether good or bad!

I love burning our triple scented, vegetable wax candles and melts in our home. It just makes me happy to have my home filled with the fragrances I love. Wonderful scents can transform your mood!

Kindness can make such a difference in this world. I love watching the expressions on people's faces as I practice random acts of kindness! In this crazy world we live in, people just don't expect people to be kind! Isn't that awful??? Do you know how much joy will be brought into your life by performing simple acts of kindness?

Doesn't it brighten your day when someone smiles at you as you walk down the street? How about when someone holds the door for you as you're hurrying into the mall?

I think if we all made a conscious effort to be kinder this world would be such a better place to live.

Through The Eyes of My Kindergartener

As my son came home from school yesterday, excited about an experiment they had done with hard-boiled eggs, pepsi, and a toothbrush (they are studying dental hygiene), I remembered the following excerpt and reflected on how true it is! I think sometimes as adults we forget these simple rules. Wouldn't our world be so much better if we remembered all the rules we learned in Kindergarten????? Just wanted to share this with you today!

ALL I REALLY NEED TO KNOW about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarten.

Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate-school mountain, but there in the sandpile at Sunday School. These are the things I learned:

Share everything.
Play fair.
Don't hit people.
Put things back where you found them.
Clean up your own mess.
Don't take things that aren't yours.
Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.
Wash your hands before you eat.
Flush.
Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
Live a balanced life - learn some and think someand draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.
Take a nap every afternoon.
When you go out into the world, watch out for traffic, hold hands, and stick together.
Be aware of wonder.
Remember the little seed in the styrofoam cup: The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.

And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned - the biggest word of all - LOOK.
Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and politics and equality and sane living. Take any of those items and extrapolate it into sophisticated adult terms and apply it to your family life or your work or your government or your world and it holds true and clear and firm.

Think what a better world it would be if all - the whole world - had cookies and milk about three o'clock every afternoon and then lay down withour blankies for a nap. Or if all governments had a basic policy to always put thing back where they found them and to clean up their own mess. And it is still true, no matter how old youare - when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.

Detours, Potholes and Dead Ends on the Road of Life

It doesn't seem to matter how sure I am of the direction I'm heading in life and then all of a sudden "BAM" -- I hit another detour, pothole or a dead end on my journey! I used to get upset about these unexpected delays, but I have learned that they are all part of my journey on the road of my life!

Instead of fighting these little problems, I'm learning to embrace them! I know that they are put there to help me develop an area in my life that may be lacking....an area in my life that needs work! As I'm learning to "go with the flow" and readjust as necessary....my life has truly become an exceptional life! I am absolutely loving my life and all that it offers every day!

As I travel the road of my life, here are some things I'm learning:

1) I truly believe that I am fulfilling the purpose God has for me here. He knows the way and His way is the best. It probably isn't the fastest or the shortest. But I am learning to learn to follow his way and not mine!

2)Every detour has a purpose! He has a goal for me -- the detours are part of God's plan for me. He knows what's best for me. I should just enjoy the detour, bask in the new scenery and believe that this is the turn I need to take!

3)Every dead end has a purpose! The dead ends I encounter are there because it's to prove that wasn't the right path for me to follow -- even though I thought it was! It puts me back on track.

4)With dead ends come both grumbling & panic. Expect it and resist the urge to either give up or join in. I'm in this for the long haul! I also want to be an encourager to others so I can speak positively into their lives when they want to give up!

So, today I renew my vow to embrace all those obstacles in my life and overcome them! I am going to succeed at this game of life!

Writing Thank You Notes

I always want the people in my life to know how much I appreciate them! I have tried to make it a practice to write friends, family, and business associates notes of gratitude to let them know how much I appreciate them and their thoughtfulness. I am also trying to instill this habit into my children. After they have received a gift or had a friend do something kind for them, we sit down and write a note! You just don't realize how much people appreciate you recognizing their thoughtfulness!

Do you know the correct way to write a thank you note? With the right preparation and approach, writing and sending a thank you card can be done quickly and easily! And most importantly, the gesture is sure to be greatly appreciated by the recipient!

Here are some tips when you are writing a thank you note:

1) Make sure you address the recipient. When you open your note with the recipient's name, you show that you are sincere and speaking directly to them.

2) Make sure your note is handwritten - not typed. This shows that you've personally taken time out of your day to sit down and acknowledge them.

3) Simply say "thank you". Mention your thank you first. By thanking them upfront, you convey your genuine appreciation and avoid distracting from your message.

4) Address the appropriateness of the gift. It makes the recipient feel so good to know that their gift will be used. If you didn't particularly like the gift, stress a positive or interesting feature of the gift! You don't want to hurt their feelings.

5) Share a brief personal line. Let them know what you or your family are up to. You don't have to make it long.

6) Restate your thank you. Use this part of the note to just briefly bring you back to the purpose of your note.

7) Close and sign. Choose your wording for the closing based on your relationship with the recipient.

8) Address envelope, stamp & mail. Write and mail your note soon after you receive the gift or the thoughtful act. You will feel so good for taking the time to deliver a proper thank you, and the giver will appreciate your thoughtfulness in sending a thank you!

Poor Barney! I'm Going To Light A Candle!

I just got back from taking our Beagle, Barney, to the vet. Over the weekend we noticed he smelled soooooooooooo bad! We thought he had just enjoyed rolling in something -- Beagles do that all the time....yuck!

Our family has had fun over the last week "renaming" Barney. He's been Funky, Funkenstein, Funky CoMedena (sp?), Sir Funk-Alot, etc., etc. I think he was starting to have a complex!
Well, after a week of a stinky dog, we decided it was time to take him to the doctors. The took one whiff and decided he had yeast in his ears! Double YUCK! The vet fixed him up with an ointment we have to put in his ears for the next 7 days. Let's home that does the trick....

All right, I'm going to burn one of my yummy smelling candles so we can mask the smelly Beagle!

Keeping Commitments & Promises

I don't know about you, but I always try to keep my commitments and promises! I have always been a dependable, reliable and trustworthy type of person. I tend to be the person that people come to when they want help or need something done because they know I will follow through! I have to admit that sometimes I get so frustrated and begin to feel taken for granted.....but then I remember how I am and who I am! I want people to depend and trust me!

I am trying so hard to instill these same values into my children. In today's society, it is so important to have something solid to put your faith into! I really think that having these type of traits makes your children more secure in this crazy world! I make sure that my children, my husband, my family and my friends know that I am here for them. I have already seen these characteristics taking shape in my children. Their friends know that they are there for them. They are the ones their friends come to for encouragement, comfort, and strength!

Did you know that successful leaders place a premium on keeping their commitments and promises? I hope I am leading the way for my children and my team to become successful leaders in life! I want them to do what they say their going to do! I want them to count on the fact that other people can count on them! I don't make excuses for myself and I don't want my children or my team members to either. I know that each time an excuse is uttered, it chips away the trust and confidence that others have in me.

So just think about it, you have to earn the right to expect others to keep their word by keeping yours! This is something that I am practicing every day!

Yeah for the Underdog!

I'm sure you've all heard that Uno the Beagle won Best in Show at the Westminster Kennel Club! My family was so excited to hear that the underdog won!

I guess our family is a little partial because we have a Beagle named Barney. He is part of our family in every way. Of course, the first two years were very rough....just like with a newborn and a toddler....we went through our phases. They ranged from house-training to chewing to digging! I think he's finally broke of all the above and life's gotten a little easier with our loveable Beagle! We wouldn't trade him for the world!

We got Barney when my son was 4. We thought he needed a pal. They are the best of friends. It's so cute how they chum around together. Of course, our son went to school this year and that broke Barney's heart. He mopes around the house like a lost puppy dog until Hunter gets home at the end of the day. They have so much fun together running around the yard, wrestling and playing their game -- they call it "Go Time"!

I would recommend a Beagle to anyone thinking about getting a dog for their family. Barney has been the perfect fit for ours!

I think we can all relate to the excitement of the underdog winning! You don't always have to be the most educated, from the best background, or from some designer mold to be successful and win in life. Sometimes it just takes some determination and alot of hard work. Success doesn't always come easy, but it can be achieved!

Valentine's Day is Only Two Days Away!

Valentine's Day is only two days away! Have you gotten the special someone in your life a present yet? It doesn't have to be elaborate! Here are some suggestions:

1) Make a card. Put your feelings down on paper. Write them a note to let them know what they mean to you. Sometimes the best gifts are gifts from the heart!

2) Make them dinner. Especially if you are NEVER the meal preparer! What a treat it would be to come home from a hard day at work to discover the chore of preparing the evening meal was already done for you!

3) Hire someone to clean the house for your special someone!

4) Flowers and candy are always nice. But how about giving them something that will last longer -- a candle!

Keeping The Hope!

Last night I went to a benefit for a little girl who has an unusual type of brain cancer. She has suffered so much over the last couple years. The outpouring in the community has been such a blessing for this family. As I sat there at the dinner benefit, I thought about how truly blessed I am to have such healthy children. I think we sometimes take for granted how fortunate we are. I just ask for everyone to keep this little girl and her family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.

A Hamster for My Son's Birthday!

Okay, I know I've totally lost it now....my son decided he wanted a hamster for his 6th birthday. My husband said it was only fair since our daughter had gotten a Guinea Pig when she was 5!
So, we go to the pet store and he picks out the hamster he wants. I think I can convince myself that it's NOT a mouse/rat because it doesn't have a tail! That's how I got past the Guinea Pig thing...I convinced myself that it looked like a rabbit!! I really have a fear of mice/rats!!!
Well, we've had the hamster -- his name is Theodore -- for about a month now. He's actually starting to grow on me! He's very entertaining! We laugh at all his antics! He climbs the cage, stuffs his little cheeks with food, and just makes us laugh! So....I guess he's staying. Hey, I even take him out of his cage and hold him!

Five Time Management Tips I Use In My Home Business

We've all heard the saying "Time is money". Since I started my home based business that saying rings true every day. In order to effectively run my home business, I discovered I had to first learn to manage my time between home and office. Here are a few things I'm doing to take control of my time:

Setting My Priorities. My family, business and volunteer work all are important. But I realized that I sometimes have to make sacrifices in some of those areas to compensate for other areas. I've learned to let go of being particular about my house, I sometimes settle for a not-so-perfect house. I also ask my family to pitch in and help out. I'm trying to teach my son that he needs to pick up after himself. I've learned it's all about choosing and setting my priorities to what works for me, my family and my home business.

Including and Delegating Help from My Family. My family is part of this journey, too! I sat down with my family and let them know what I was doing and why. I let them know how much I love them and that I was going to be busy starting my new business. I let them know what I expected of them and let them know I wanted them to start helping out around the house more. By including them from the start, they have been more understanding and have wanted to help me. I have a sense that they now feel like they are playing an active role in helping my (our) business succeed.

Becoming a Goal Setter. I've set daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals for my family and my business. I've written them down so that I am accountable for achieving the results I want. By having my goals in writing, I'm able to revisit them and adjust accordingly.
Being Realistic and Flexible. We all have grand visions of the perfect home based business arrangement. I've let that go! I am striving to be more realistic and flexible at all times. There will be interruptions, sick children, and various other unexpected events. By setting my goals and realizing I can make adjustments, I am able to get back on track when I have an unplanned event.

Getting Organized. Organization is a whole topic to itself! I'll just touch on some of the things I'm starting with. Organization takes time! First, I'm keeping one calendar that contains both my business and family events. By recording all my commitments on one calendar, I'm able to keep from having scheduling conflicts. I'm trying to keep my office as tidy as I can. I've been trying to return items to the same place I got them from. I'm establishing a filing system so that I am not rummaging through papers to find what I need.

Time management is essential to a successful home business and a successful family life. By integrating these five tips into my home, I should be able to take back control of my time and move forward to an outstanding home based business!

Are you ready to get your home business going in the right direction this New Year? Having a home business can be overwhelming. There is no better time than the beginning of the year to get your business back on track. Here are some tips to help you make this year the best year yet for your home business:

Revisit your "Why's". Your "why" needs to be big enough for you to want to go after it. Refresh your memory on the exact reason why you wanted your own business. Creating a dream board or a dream book using pictures to represent your "why" can be a great way to remind yourself daily why you're doing what you're doing. Revisit your "Why" for selecting the type of business you decided to start. Why did you join the company you chose? Why did you choose to go into a certain type of business? Include these thoughts and ideas on your dream board/book. Place your dream board/book some place where you can see it daily. This will help your "why's" become engrained in you.

Reflect on what you've done so far with your business. What parts of the business have made you feel good? What tasks have you thoroughly enjoyed in your business? Do you enjoy the customer service, retailing, fundraising, developing new methods, coaching others, etc.? Think about the part of your business that really gets you going and focus on excelling on that part of your business. As a business owner, you have to figure out which hat fits and which does not and grow your business in the way that is most beneficial to you.

Create or review your business plan. By creating a business plan, you will know what you need to do to meet your goals. Having your plan and goals on paper enables you to see where you've been and where you're going. If you are not a goal setting person, commit to learning the art of setting goals and working towards them. Review your goals and your business plan monthly. Are you doing what you need to do to meet your objectives and goals? Update your plan as necessary and make any additions and/or deletions based on any changes in your desired goals. Remember the importance of planning - without a plan in place, decision making is very difficult?maybe even impossible. Your business plan is a work in progress. It will be ever changing as your business grows and develops.

Get organized. Okay THIS is the year you are going to get organized. The time savings of organization are incredible! Prioritize your tasks daily and weekly. Set blocks of time to perform specific tasks. Make sure you have your office in order. Have proper supplies and software available to you. Make your home office a place you want to spend time in. If you are unable to find things in your home office, chances are you will become frustrated and not want to spend time there.

Network with others in the same type of business. Agree to let yourself be known. Get more comfortable with promoting yourself and your business and let people know who you are and what you do. Check out a variety of online discussion groups and forums. Find ones you like and join up for lively discussions and advice. Find local chapters of offline networking groups in your local community. Networking with others can be a wonderful way to build your business and help others. Stay connected with others in your field of business.

Learn something new everyday. Subscribe to various periodicals and magazines that will keep you abreast of what's happening in your business field. Enroll in training courses and various other training options to help enhance your business and self-development skills. Networking is another way to build your knowledge. There are many gurus out there willing to mentor, guide, support and coach you as your reach your goals.

Market your business wisely. Plan your yearly marketing budget. Remember, marketing doesn't always have to be expensive. Some of the best marketing for your business can be referrals from your current customer base.

Improve your customer service. Your customers are the lifeline of your business. Strive to provide the best customer service that you can. Great customer service leads to more referrals. One of the easiest ways to grow your business is by taking care of your current customers and asking for referrals to more customers just like them. If you are providing excellent customer service, your customers will be more than happy to share their experiences with others.

I'm On My Way To Success and Beyond!

My journey to success and beyond with my Gourmet Candle Home Business has been such a fulfilling experience! I'm so excited to be sharing with you some of my awesome success stories I've been having over the last couple months.

Retailing - I've been able to introduce these wonderful products into so many homes in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia. All of the customers and contacts I have made absolutely love these candles and bath products! I have a growing list of clients who keep coming back for more! Even some of the "skeptical" contacts are becoming returning customers! Once they experience the quality of the products they fall in love with them and have to have more! Where else can you find a candle that burns so clean and evenly with such a true-to-life fragrance?
Over the holiday season, I have participated in several Open House and Vendor events in the area. The response to these products has just been phenomenal! People are looking for a quality product to bring into their homes.

Fundraising - I love being able to help others with my gourmet candle home business. I was able to help a local school organization hold a very successful fundraiser last month. The group was able to sell 109 candles and make $654 to put towards their class trip. They were so excited by their profits that they've decided to hold another fundraiser in the spring! We are all sure that their next fundraiser will be even bigger. Once the customers enjoy their candles from this event, they will be wanting another!

Team Building/Residual Income - I have introduced my candles to a local spa who absolutely loves the quality and scents of our candles. They are considering becoming a distributor so that they can use and market the products in their establishment!

I have a new team member and have several interested prospects for this business. It is just an awesome opportunity and journey! This is a business you can build the way you want to build it. That's what really attracted me to the opportunity.

Holiday Shopping Safety: Keeping Your Children Safe This Holiday Season

Wow, Thanksgiving is over and it's time to do all that Christmas shopping! I always try to be extra cautious with my children during all our holiday outings. It is so important to be extra safe during this time of year. Following is an article that I have just recently written about this topic:

As crowds of shoppers begin to fill the malls and shopping centers this holiday season, remember to put safety first with your family. Setting some simple ground rules for your shopping trips will keep the holiday shopping experience less stressful.

As parents, we can easily get distracted during the season. We're constantly rushing around trying to complete all the items on our "To Do" list. We often become so focused on the outcome we may forget to be extra cautious while running all those errands. This time of year is a great opportunity to sit down with your family and go over some basic rules with your kids. These rules should be practiced the entire year, but especially during this hectic time of year. It so important for us as parents to set the ground rules about safety before heading out on those holiday shopping trips. Simple rules such as requiring your children to stay with you at all times while shopping, accompanying and supervising them in public facilities and developing a plan in case you would become separated.

It's also good to go over some "what-if" scenarios with your children, reviewing with them a proper plan of action if they should happen to look up and find that you aren't there. You should instruct your children to stay put, close to where they became separated from you so that they will not venture out to the parking lot looking for you or your car.

Reassure children that there are other grown ups who can help hem if they become lost. Security guards and store clerks are just a few examples of people children can learn to recognize as those who can be asked for help. Let your children know that they are not alone and that they shouldn't panic. You and your lost child need to remain calm. Panic only makes the situation worst.

If you expect to be especially distracted or busy whil shopping, you should plan ahead. It's probably a great idea to get a babysitter if you think you'll be distracted while shopping. Your children will probably thank you for letting them have time with their favoite babysitter and not having to be lugged along through the crowded stores. It would probably benefit you as well so that you could get your shopping done a little quicker and with a little less stress!

Following is a list of some safety tips you should follow this holiday shopping season:

· Always require your children to stay with you at all times while shopping.
· Always accompany and supervise your children in public facilities, including restrooms.
· Always have a plan in place in case you become separated, including a pre-designated spot to meet.
· Always teach your children to look for people who can help, such as a uniformed security officer, salesperson or a mother with children.
· Always remind your children to remain in the area where they became separated.
· Always turn shopping trips into opportunities to practice safe shopping.
· Never dress your children in clothing displaying their names, prompting unwelcome attention from people looking for an opportunity to start a conversation.
· Never leave your children in toy stores or public facilities expecting supervision from store personnel.
· Never go shopping or attend a public event with a child if you feel you're going to be distracted. Make other arrangements for child care ahead of time.
· Never Allow younger children to shop on their own to purchase surprise gifts for friends or family members.
· Never drop off your older children at a mall or public place without agreeing on a clear plan for pick up; including where, when and what to do in case of a change in plans.

By following these simple holiday safety tips, you should be able to eliminate some of the stress that comes along with this busy holiday shopping season.

I love being home with my kids, I have been home now for about 4 years; it has been the best decision we have made for our family. My husband and I both grew up in homes where we had stay at home mothers and we decided we wanted the same for our children. I have fond memories of my mom always being there for me. She was there every morning to see me off to school, at school helping whenever needed and there every afternoon to share the excitement of my day!
